  • Mrs. Leonor Rosa Foster, my dear and honored grandmother, passed away on May 21, 2022 after a long struggle, being of great help as a Christian, an example of honesty and kindness. She feared God from her youth and God honored her by making her eminent in grace and usefulness as well. She was a strictly pious Christian and devout in her duty to God. Although she lived a considerable time, she has left a good name, a character just behind her. But now she rests from her labors, and her good deeds follow her, to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Behind her were the constant prayers of her father Jorge O. Foster (1920-2000), her grandmother Serafina (1898-1957) and even her eleventh great-grandfather Richard Foster (c.1648-1730), who died in 1730 after suffering severe strangulation pain because of his faith, but not before setting a good example and "raise many fervent prayers to God for his descendants, for his posterity" according to a document from the beginning of the 18th century.

You left one morning, dear grandmother. Your departure hurts me, but I know you are with our Lord, the one who always loved you and whom you longed for so much.

I said goodbye to you one night before you left. I have done it with a kiss in your deep sleep and whispers that reached the soul like a soft breeze, and then I told you:

"My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going." (John 14:2-4)

This promise of Jesus is for you, Rosita, who knew how to do good without giving up, and accompanied the afflicted in their pain, comforting and helping tirelessly. To think we talk so much about this. Memories that will always remain in my heart.

Grandma, I'm writing this letter to you as a thank you for everything you have done and for your immense generosity, humility and strength. Those were years I will never forget. And I reminded you of that promise that night because the Father has a home in which he dwells, but especially one designed for you, good and faithful servant, a glorious and heavenly home where you will be forever with the Lord Jesus Christ, where there will be no more crying or pain, because these things have happened.

He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people's disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken. (Isaiah 25:8)

Thank you dear grandmother. I will keep your teachings in my heart and every moment shared by your side. We are going to miss you a lot.

Goodbye Rosita, fly very high. Receive the great award for your immense faith, generosity and diligence.
